End of session Party
Next week, Thursday,June 3rd is COMBINED rehearsal and PARTY!!!! Everyone comes at 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm for rehearsal. Each group will do their show for the other group. Afterward, we will play games and have treats and goodies.

Poway center for Performing Arts concert

DVD
Do you want to purchase a DVD of the big Concert at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts? As years go by, you'll be glad you invested in it. We will have a professional videographer tape the show. Please put a check in the Chorus payment box any Thursday before June 9th.

DVD checks made payable to DAN MARQUIS in the amount of $25 per DVD.
If you order after the show on June 9th, it's $30. Put your child's name on the 'memo' line.

Tickets (do you need extra?)
Each family will receive 4 tickets for your family in app. 3-4 weeks. I need to know if you need extra tickets. If so, please tell me if they are for immediate family, extended family (grandma and etc...) , or friends (everyone except family) and also tell me if you need a lap ticket for a young child. They require a ticket for them also. Make sure to request if handicap seating is needed.

You will receive your tickets approximately two weeks before the PCPA concert. Each family will receive 4 tickets. If you need more, they are free of charge, but must be requested early. Email Rita for extra tickets. There is assigned seating. It is done randomly. There are no bad seats at the Center, so don’t fret that you won’t have good seats. Do not get extra tickets unless you are sure they will be used. All babies sitting in laps will need lap tickets. Turn any unused tickets back into Rita.

The PCPA is located next to Poway High School. 15498 Espola Rd.

Tech rehearsal is 4:15-5:30pm. (at the PCPA, not at Rec. Center) Do not wear your costume at this time. Drop off your student at the Artist Entrance on the east side of the bldg. and sit in the seats in front of the stage.

Dinner break is from 5:30-6:45 pm. Eat dinner and change into costume and make-up. Return to your assigned dressing room by 6:45. (You may use the dressing room and bathroom for hair and make-up. If you eat there, PLEASE pick up your mess)

The Concert begins at 7 pm. Doors open at 6:30 for the general public. This is our highlight performance of the session. The lights and sound make for a wonderful show, and of course the stars are your children who will no doubt shine! Please discuss good manners with your child when they are back stage. It is important that they obey the rules of the bldg. After the concert, you can meet your child in the lobby, or the younger ones will come off the stage and meet you inside the concert hall. This is a great evening! The show is done before 8:30 pm.

Be at Albertson’s Infield Stage BY 11:30 am. (inside Kiddie Land)

Give yourself 30 minutes to park and walk to the stage.

Rehearsal is at 11:30 am at the stage.

Performance time is 12 noon (yes, we will do the whole show)

Directions: Take 1-5 to the Via de la Valle exit. Proceed west, staying in the right hand lane. Turn left at the Solana Gate Entrance. Place Green Lot parking pass visibly in your windshield. ALLOW AN HOUR TO DRIVE THERE. You can park in the Green Lot. Every year a few kids are late because they didn’t give enough time to drive, and I have given their part to someone else when they don’t show up for the rehearsal at 11:30.

Sign your performer pass and check-in at the Special Events/West Gate. You must have ID with you. Last year too many did not arrive with identification. Please be prepared to give it to them this year.

An adult will also get in free with each performers confirmation card. Extra family members can purchase a ticket at the back gate near your entrance (West Gate).

New rehearsal times this session

Due to lower registrations, we will be combining the three groups into two groups.

Showtime will now be taught by Rita and Jennifer and consist of the old Shooting Stars group, all 2nd graders, all boys, and some 3rd graders from the old Showtime group.

Sharp Sounds will be taught by Rita and her daughters Calee and Kristina and consist of some 3rd graders from the old Showtime group, plus the girls from Sharp Sounds last session.

Please be sure to let Rita know if you will be missing rehearsal. Rehearsal are planned according to who is expected to be there.

Children's Chorus Spring Session

Children's Chorus Spring Session begins January 14th at the RB Rec. Center.

If you were registered last session, you do not need to re-register again for this session, but please let Rita know if you are NOT planning to return.

Now is the time for friends to join the group. Kids love having a friend with them in the group. Please send your friends to the website to join or email Rita.

I'm offering FREE Concert Fee ($35 value) to anyone who has a new friend join the group.

Waiting list kids will also be invited into the group at this time, until the group is filled.

TEEN HARMONY

If you know anyone who would like join the beginning or advanced groups of Teen Harmony, have them contact Rita asap.

Songs

We have GREAT shows this time. I think we've done well over 100 shows in the 20 years that Children's Chorus has existed, and the shows we are doing this time are in my top 5 favorite! Showtime will perform "Destination:America" singing the different styles of American music...everything from Country to Broadway! Sharp Sounds will do the "We Haz Jazz" show and explore American Jazz and composers. It is such fun music and the girls did great learning the first song yesterday. Solos (at the end of rehearsals)

A few students will be picked each week (each will get a "solo" sticker if selected) to sing a 1 minute solo of their own choosing (on the microphone) the next week at the end of rehearsal time. Everyone will get at least 2 opportunities to do this. Practice and come prepared. Please listen to your rehearsal CD between rehearsals.

TUITION JANUARY - JUNE

You may pay monthly installments of $55.00 for the first student and $40 for the second student.

Or you may pay for the entire 6 month session at once.

1 student total is $365/session. ($330 tuition + $35 concert fee)
2 students total is $605/session ($570 tuition + $35 concert fee)
(This session is 2 months longer than the Christmas session.)

Checks should be made payable to Rita Schroeder. (Put checks in the payment box at chorus.)

CONCERT FEE

A one time concert fee of $35 per family is due at the beginning of the session. This helps offset the cost of the PCPA performance.

You will receive free tickets to the Concert at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts (the concert fee is waived for students who refer a friend to Children's Chorus)

COSTUMES

A new costume order sheet will be available soon.
