"Starlets" is the name of our preschool group. Jennifer teaches this class, which meets on Tuesday mornings, and is open to both three and four-year-olds. It is a thirty-minute class. The first 10-15 minutes involve the most basic of vocal warm-ups and ear training, mixed with fun preschool songs. The next 10-15 minutes is dedicated to learning and building a "repertoire" of music to be performed at a local rest home, three times a year. (October, March and May). The last five minutes of class is reserved for "solo time." Each Starlet will have five opportunities over the course of the year to perform a "solo" for their classmates. This of course, is voluntary…although I try to make the treats very enticing! We also prepare and perform a "specialty number" for the Performing Arts Center concerts in December and June.
Each Starlet family will receive four tickets to the PCPA concerts. Additional tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no charge for the tickets, and there is no concert fee for Starlet families, unless they have an older sibling in chorus.
Starlet Costume:
Starlets will receive a Children's Chorus T-shirt to be worn at performances with bottoms of your choice. Solid colors are preferred. The cost for the T-shirt is $10. You may pay cash or check. Make payable to Rita Schroeder if you write a check. You MAY wear the one you had last year if it is still in great condition.
I am excited to get to sing with your child!
